The Western Photographic Circle
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

The Western Photographic Circle was founded in 1964 by a group of dedicated photographers whose goal was to set a high technical standard and encourage a creative approach to photography.

To gain admission to the Western Photographic Circle a photographer is invited to a meeting, if he is comfortable with the open critiques of the member's work and the camaraderie he is invited to submit a set of minimum of 4 prints. The members will evaluate the work at a separate meeting and if successful will be invited to join.

The Circle meets the last Monday of the month from October to June to critique member's work, exchange ideas and information, workshops on various technical and artistic aspects of photography and a great deal of good fellowship.

The Circle has helped to improve the quality of many of the member's work and has supplied very competent judges and lecturers for other groups.
